Leonard Kolanowski Jr was born April 13th, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan and died February 15th, 2021 in Arlington, TX. The eldest son of four kids, he graduated from Lawrence Technological University, where he cultivated his passion for engineering, science, and math. Decades later, he passed on these strengths to his every grandchild. He married his cherished college sweetheart Sandra Kay Burnet, and celebrated 60 years of loving devotion to each other last August. She survived him as did his son David (Maria), his daughter Susan (Craig) and beloved grandchildren Jacob and Adam, Sarah and David Jr, Linnea and Ellie, his brother, George and sister, Marge. He is preceded in death by his parents Leonard Sr. and Mary Kolanowski, brother John, and firstborn son, Leonard the III. He was deliberately dependable and advocated loyalty, honesty and kindness, conservatism and Christianity. He was an alter boy in his youth and later worked his dad's Hardware store by their same name (Leonard's Hardware). To our good fortune, dad could fix or build nearly anything and everything. He loved nothing more on earth than his family near and far, embracing hearts who made him truly rich. Dad, you are gone too soon but surely in the loving arms of Son and Father, both earthly and Heavenly. You are so loved and adored and eternally missed. Your greatness lives on in each one of us..... Until we meet again.
