She was born Oct. 21, 1907, in Jones County to Nathan and Connie Holt. She was a longtime resident of Fort Worth. She retired from nursing in 1972 and was a member of Southcliff Baptist Church. Maggie also worked at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth. Recently she moved to a care center in Granbury.
Maggie had a sweet and caring love for her family and friends. She was lovingly called "Grams" by those who knew her well. She has been with us a long time, and we will miss her.
Preceding Maggie in death were her husband, JW Travis, and son, Lavell Travis.
Survivors: Children, John Travis and wife, Thelma R. Travis, of Granbury, Duane and wife, Odessa, of Greenville, Edwin Travis of Greeley, Colo.; grandchildren, Duana Yates, Deborah Thompson, Greg Travis, Jim Travis, Terri Travis, Larry Travis, Jeff Travis, Tim Travis, Bill Travis and Connie Voight; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
