Margaret M Ledford

Service: 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 Davis Drive, Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Marge was born July 17, 1927, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to parents, Otto and Ella Jane Beam. She grew up working on a dairy farm until going to work for Alexander Drug where she met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Ledford. They married May 4, 1946, and were never apart for 64 years when Bob passed on July 30, 2010. Marge spent her life as a homemaker, taking care of her husband and two adoring daughters, Dianne and Robin.

She never met a stranger and made friends who lasted a lifetime. She was known for her outstanding cooking and especially enjoyed cooking for her grandchildren and later for her great-grandchildren.

She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and currently a member of First United Methodist of Arlington. Marge never met anyone she wouldn't call a friend, often befriending her nurses in the hospital and counseling them on life. Above all else, Marge was a daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandma and mee-maw to her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and brother, Leroy.

Survivors: Daughters, Dianne and Robin; brother, E.B. Beam; grandchildren, Rob and wife, Charity, Lee and wife, Anna, and Brett; and great-granddaughters, Katy, Kalli and Sara.
