Mario Mireles Gonzalez

Mario Mireles Gonzalez passed on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the age of 85, having been born on Wednesday, January 29, 1941 in Coahuila, Mexico, to Felix Mireles and Elpidia Gonzalez, and raised in Nueva Rosita, before coming to the United States. Mario was a resident of Arlington, Texas.

He married the love of his life, Micaela Guajardo Mireles in 1958 and the couple went on to have 8 children! He supported his family as a butcher and factory worker until he retired. In his younger years, Mario was a public transportation officer in Mexico. He was a longtime resident of Houston and recently moved to Arlington to spend the remainder of his time with his family, under the care of his granddaughters Belinda and Veronica, and grandson Mark.

Mario loved dancing, going to the casino, going to the flea market, being with his friends and family and playing scratch off cards.

He will be remembered for his humor, always checking in with a phone call to family, and playing with his great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by Micaela G. Mireles, Guadalupe Mireles, Rosa Mireles, Mario Alberto Mireles, and Jose Mireles.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Lourdes Mireles Pesina and Sylvia Leticia Rios, his sons Pedro Javier Mireles, Luis Alonso Mireles, his niece Juanita Benitez, nephew Jose Arriaga, and many more. His grandchildren Veronica, Belinda, Mark, David, Liz, Gloria, Armando and many more. His great grandchildren Destiny, Stephanie, Xavier, Leticia, Jose Rolando, Makayla, Mark Anthony Jr., Gabriella, Gloria Isaura, Dariella, Junior, Daymar, and many more.
