Marjorie Lois Fraser

“Margie” was born June 21, 1928 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the only child of Charles Andrew Cook and Lois Humphries Cook. Her great grandfather was General Philip Cook of the Civil War. Her grandfather was the Secretary of the State of Georgia for twenty-three years. Margie was the last graduating class of the old “Girls High School” in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended the University of Georgia and the Emory University School of Nursing. She and her husband, Don, were married July 7, 1951. They had three daughters: Donna, Diana, and Denise. They often said “I.B.M.” which meant “I’ll Be Moving,” which they did. They moved to Arlington in 1968 and she spent many happy hours working in the office of Dr. Michael M. Ditto, M.D. for twenty years. She then worked for Peter John Naus, M.D. Margie and Don were charter members of New World United Methodist Church.

Margie loved to paint and make all kinds of crafts. She also loved to square dance, sew, cook, and garden.

Survivors include her husband, Don, of 69 years; her daughters, Donna, Diana, and Denise, and their husbands; three granddaughters and two grandsons; plus her nephew, Ladson Garing.

Margie was very devoted to her family and many, many friends.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 1:00-2:00pm at Moore Funeral Home on Davis Road. Funeral will be on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 2:00pm at Moore Funeral Home on Davis Road. Burial will take place immediately following the service in Moore Memorial Gardens.
