On Wednesday April 22, 2026 at the age of 71, after a seven-month battle with metastatic cancer, our dear Mark left to be with the Lord. For the past 40 years, Mark was a much-valued surgical tech and played a role in turning baby doctors into confident surgeons. A lot of those fellows are now grandparents who play Mark's favorite 1970's rock in the operating room, making him a happy boy. For the past eighteen years Mark worked at the Texas Health Center for Diagnostics and Surgery in Plano, Texas. He worked up until Thanksgiving of 2025, when his cancer was diagnosed.
Besides so many friends and coworkers at THCDS, Mark brought a smile to most everyone he met. He loved his crafts, whether turning wood and acrylic pens, creating alabaster and wooden bowls, or chopping flint to make arrowheads. He was a member of the Ranger Spring Skinners, a group that shot black powder muzzleloaders and reenacted the 1820 "Mountain Man" experience in full costume. He was a man of many talents, and the kindest man his spouse ever met.
Mark was predeceased by his loving father, Charles Buckley, whom he spoke of nearly everyday. He is survived by his heartbroken wife, Charlotte, a nurse who he met in the operating room; his loving mother, Joan Buckley; beloved daughters Nicole (Aaron) Koch; Ava (Taylor) Osborne; siblings Terri McMullen and Patrick (Kathy) Buckley. His five grandchildren whom he loved dearly; Alex, Avery, Max, Raliegh, Kinley. And His many loved and joyful pets throughout the years.
RIP You always be remembered and in our hearts.
