

Martha grew up in Crawford County, Illinois, she loved riding horses. Martha married her childhood sweetheart, Jim Birge, in Indianapolis, Ind., and was happily married for 58 years. They later moved to Dallas, Texas, where they raised two kids and successfully built and ran Jim Birge & Company Construction Company. Jim and Martha Birge relocated to Pecan Plantation area where they enjoyed retirement with their many friends. Jim died in 2010. They attended church for many years at Calvary Temple in Irving, Texas, and Martha later was a member at Acton Methodist Church. She enjoyed travel, entertaining family and friends, attending church, golf.
Survivors: Daughter, Dianna Birge of Fort Worth, Texas; grandsons, James Hunter DeGroot of Manhattan, N.Y., Christian Hayden DeGroot of Waco, Texas, Jonathan and Jeremy Birge of Rogers, Ark.; son, James Dennis Birge passed away in Joplin, Mo., in March, 2009; siblings, Robert Randolph, and Robert Perez, Ruth Twigg, and spouse, Francis Twigg, Rosie Lawlace, and spouse, Robert Jerry Randolph, and spouse, Helen.
A visitation for Martha will be held Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas. A funeral service will occur Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM, at Moore Funeral Home. A committal service will occur at Moore Memorial Garden, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are Paul Greer, Jerry Randolph, Jim Crittenden, Hunter DeGroot, Hayden DeGroot, Matthew Salas, Dick Jones, Farrell Arceneaux, Doug E Fresh and Robert Randolph.
