Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at First Baptist Church in Arlington. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Moore Funeral Home.
Martha was born March 5, 1935, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Alice "Ina" and J.C. Harris. As a teenager she moved to Waco, where she graduated from Baylor University and later obtained a master's degree in education. Martha taught school in the Arlington ISD for over 27 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Arlington. She loved to cook, travel, garden and lend a helping hand to others.
Martha was a loving woman who displayed grace, honesty, humor and strength. Her true love in life was her beloved husband and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Josh.
Survivors: Husband, David A. Farris; son, Dr. Douglas Farris and wife, Shannon; daughters, Darla Turner and husband, Mike, Diana Farris, and Debbie Wilkes and husband, Gary; grandchildren, Blake and Brandon Turner and Ashlyn and Ryan Wilkes; and brother, Bill Harris and wife, Kay.
