Martha Gayle Whitlow

Martha Gayle Whitlow, age 87, passed away on September 7, 2026 in Mabank, Texas.

She was born in Daingerfield, Texas on July 5, 1939 to Homer and Ruby Inez Nix. Gayle was raised In Daingerfield, Texas and graduated from Daingerfield High School in 1957.

She married Bobby Dean Whitlow on August 11, 1962 and the couple had three children. She was a Certified Cosmetologist where she worked for many years. Gayle, always known to be a person who never met a stranger, thrived as a hair stylist, made many friends, and imparted her joy to hundreds of people. This also afforded her an opportunity to share Jesus with many. In her spare time, Gayle enjoyed serving at her church, family time, Sunday lunches with her family, reading, tending to her flowers, playing board games and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and a faithful member of Crestview Missionary Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving, joyful, friendly conversationalist, giver of hugs, strong willed woman who never met a stranger. She loved the Lord and her family.

Gayle is survived in death by her son Zach and daughter-in-law Jacque Whitlow of Mabank, Texas; daughter Dana and son-in-law Greg Dean of Mansfield, Texas; son Brian and Renay Stockard of Cranfills Gap, Texas; Grandchildren Ryan Dean and wife Cristina; Cassandra Sakhleh and husband Ryan, Garrett Dean and wife Lexi; Kyle Whitlow and great grandchildren Hudson Dean, Amelia Dean, and Eliza Dean; step grandchildren Ashley Burgess husband Sam; Bryant Sevell and step grandchildren Dakota, Brenden and Payton.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, 6 Brothers: Homer Ray Nix, Cleburn Nix, Roger T. Nix, Larry J. (Butch) Nix, Bruce Nix, Robert M. (Robbie) Nix; 2 Sisters: Ruby Nix-Sellars, Helen Nix-Ellison.

Gayle, will always be remembered as a loving, nourishing wife, mom, relative, friend and colleague to all that knew and cared for her. Gayle will be missed by many relatives and friends, cherishing all the good memories shared with her.
