Mary Teresa Amato

Born August 7, 1962 in Arlington, TX; her parents were Fred and Callie Amato. Mary is survived by her sister; Sarah Jones of Quitman, TX and her brother and his wife, Fred and Melissa Amato; as well as 3 nieces and 3 nephews: Teah, Jeramy, Jonathan, Austin, Anna, and Alaina.

Mary was born with Down Syndrome and wasn’t expected to make it past the age of 2, yet she defied those odds and went on to live a full life to the age of 50. She graduated from Veda Knox in Arlington, TX, class of 1984. She attended First Baptist Quitman and Lake Country Bible Church, where she was very active in the community and involved in church events.

Mary was the type of person that could put a smile on your face. She was loving and caring; always greeting people with a hug. There was not one person who wasn’t touched after meeting her. She loved children, and was a wonderful Aunt to her nieces and nephews.

Mary enjoyed horseback riding, crocheting, bowling, swimming, word search puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends.

Mary was loved by all, and will be sorely missed.
