May 22, 1935 – August 7, 2025
Mary Lee Campbell passed away peacefully in the early hours of Thursday morning, August 7, 2025, at her home in Trophy Club, Texas, with her dear friend and caregiver, Lisa Miller, at her side. She was 90 years old.
Mary was born on May 22, 1935, in Brownsville, Texas. Her family later relocated to Fort Worth, where they settled in the Polytechnic area. She graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1953 and went on to attend Texas Wesleyan University. Mary also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Texas at Arlington.
She spent much of her professional life as the Executive Assistant to Jim Miller, owner of Miller Business Systems (formerly Arlington Office Supply), where her integrity and professionalism were highly valued.
Mary was a kind and gentle soul—a devoted wife, loving mother, and a friend to many. Her warmth was matched only by her radiant smile and generous spirit. She had a lifelong love of music and singing, sharing her angelic voice as a choir member at both St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Haltom City and later at Fellowship United Methodist Church in Trophy Club, where she and her late husband Jack were members.
A passionate traveler, Mary visited many countries throughout her life and lived in Seoul, South Korea, for four years, an experience that broadened her perspective and enriched her life. She also appreciated fine cuisine and wine, and was a frequent guest at one of her favorite local restaurants, the Classic Cafe in Roanoke.
Mary was actively involved in several community groups, including the Creative Christian Women’s group (CCW) and the Poly Grannies. She was known by all for her honesty, grace, and unwavering integrity.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clinton Burchill; her second husband, Jack Campbell; her parents, Edward and Annex Box; her sister, Alice Ann Payne and husband Rayford Payne; her brother, Don Box; her brother-in-law, James Garrison; and her nephew, Gary Payne.
Mary is survived by her sister, Edwina Garrison of Flower Mound; sister-in-law, Nancy Box of Fort Worth; sons David Burchill and wife Nancy of Burleson, and Greg Burchill of Dallas; granddaughters Cynthia Richardson and husband Chris of Spicewood, and Christie Coffey and husband Chris of Weatherford; and great-grandchildren Kylie Gannon, Jake Richardson, and Camryn and Madison Coffey.
She is also survived by stepsons Stephen Campbell and wife Janet of Arlington, and Mike Campbell and wife Julie of Olney; and step-grandchildren Ryan Campbell, Kelly Hohmann, Savannah Petronis, Shelby Campbell, and their families.
Additional surviving family include nephew Dr. James Garrison Jr. and his family of San Antonio, Doug and wife Sherry Payne of Fort Worth; niece Holly McMillan and her family of Flower Mound; nephew Curtis Box and his family; and niece Jana Box and her family, all of Fort Worth.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Lisa Miller for her devoted and loving care of Mary. We consider Lisa part of our family. Deep gratitude is also extended to Magnolia Hospice for their compassionate support, their constant presence, and the comfort they provided during this difficult time.
Mary touched countless lives with her kindness and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
