Mary Velma Duval

Mary Duval was born in Dallas County, TX on February 29,1928. She and her family lived in Cedar Hill,TX on a dairy farm for 14 years. The family moved to Webb, Tx where she attended Mansfield High School. She met J.C. there. They later married when he returned from the Army on November 22,1943. They moved to Arlington where they bought a new house. They raised a family there. Carolyn and Charles Wayne attended Arlington schools. The kids were busy in school activities and Little League and they never missed a game. In 1967 Carolyn married Roger Harris and added another son to our family.

Mary went to work at Tres Petite Mfg. Co. in Grand Prairie, Tx and worked there for over 20 years. J. C. worked at Arlington Independent School District and they both retired in 1988. They had a camper and enjoyed camping and fishing every weekend for over 30 years. The grandchildren were in school sports so they were at every game possible to cheer them on. J.C. passed away in 2010 at age 87, they were married 66 1/2 yrs, and Mary continued to live at the same house. She was always cooking and trying new recipes. Mary was known by all for her famous delicious pecan pies. Everyone wanted her to bring them to all the family gatherings especially Christmas and Thanksgiving. Mary and her sister Betty were born on leap year 12 years apart. Every year they celebrated their birthdays together but when it was leap year it was a special celebration.

Mary put her faith in the Lord and was baptized at Webb Baptist Church. J.C. and Mary attended Arlington Baptist Temple when they moved to Arlington and were members over 65 years. Mary`s favorite passage in the bible is the 23rd Psalms.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jack C. Duval; her son Charles Wayne Duval;

She is survived by her children Carolyn and her husband Roger Harris; grandchildren Tiffany and husband Jason Odea; Jennifer Drumm; great grandchildren Alyssa and husband Alex Kamego, Ashley Riley, Brooklyn Jones.Great great grandchildren Addalyn Riley, Owen Riley, and Grant Riley.
