Mary was born on November 27, 1952 in Shreveport, Louisiana to George L Johnson and Raye E Johnson. She graduated high school in 1970 from Bellevue High School in Bellevue, Nebraska. She attended Draughn Business School become secretary and graduated in 1973. After her children finished high school, Mary attended Arlington Career Institute to become a paralegal and graduated in May 2004. She got married to Steve Findley in June 1979. She worked at Pier One Imports in Arlington when she had Eddie. They moved to Austin were she worked for the State of Texas in the Department of Licensing and Regulation and had Jennifer. The family moved back to Arlington in 1993 where they have lived since. She worked at the Ballpark in Arlington as an usher from 1998 to 2005. She got divorced in October 2002 and connected with longtime friend Kenny Jandrew in the same year. She was so happy when she found out that she was going to be a grandmother in 2003. No matter what was wrong or how she felt, she would always brighten up when she spoke to or saw April.
Mary had many hobbies. She taught her daughter to cross-stitch at a young age and they enjoyed cross-stitching together. She also took classes in photography and took many good pictures. While fighting cancer she started making jewelry.
She said that the reason that she worked so hard and fought so long was for her children and granddaughter. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Mary is survived by daughter, Jennifer Findley of Arlington; son Eddie Findley of Arlington; granddaughter, April Findley and mother, Amy of San Antonio, Texas; boyfriend, Kenny Jandrew of Arlington; ex-husband, Steve Findley of Dallas, Texas; sister, Nancy Tovias and husband, Larry of Lompoc, California; brother, Steve Johnson of Arlington; pets, Muttley, Lucy, and Fritz; two nieces; two great nephews; one great-great nephew; and many many friends.
