

Memorial services for Mary Estelle Parson will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Moore Funeral Home Chapel. John Christopher Weems will officiate. A reception will follow with light faire at the Moore reception hall. Mary passed on Thursday, February 27, 2014 in Arlington.
Mary Estelle Hyde was born April 26, 1930 in Sheffield, Alabama to William Franklin Hyde and Eula Estell Tuten Hyde. She spent her childhood years in Sheffield, Alabama, Rainer, Oregon, and Lipan, Texas, graduating from Sheffield High School in 1947. Mary’s first job was as a switchboard telephone operator in Lipan. In 1952 she went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone as a switchboard operator in Forth Worth. This was a job she truly loved.
Mary married the love of her life, Thomas Odean Parson in 1961. She and Tom opened a mobile home park in Arlington in 1968 and ran it together until his passing, October 22, 1974. Following his passing she became a care taker.
Mary was a kind and loving person who made friends easily. She was a life-long Baptist and enjoyed quilting, sewing and playing with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Parson was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Price Hyde.
Survivors include two daughters; Sheryl Lynn Williams and Brenda Parnell, one brother, Tom Hyde and one sister, Alice Hyde; three grandchildren, John Christopher Weems, Dillon Parnell, and Celina Hronik; great-grandchildren, Sakara Weems, Samantha Parnell and baby Hronik on the way, which is due on Mary’s birthday.
