was raised mostly in Clinton, Iowa and throughout the country. He attended and graduated from University of Iowa with a BA in 1959 and from University of Bemidji with a MA in 1967.
Max served in the US Navy, as a EN2 (Engineer Second Class), during the Korean War, for 3 years and 3
months.
He married the love of his life Lois J. Bowman in 1954 and the couple had 4 children. He was a School Counselor and History Teacher at Clinton Community School District where he worked for more than 31 years before retiring.
In his spare time Maxon enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and traveling throughout the USA. He was a member of the Free Masons, Scottish Rite where he received his 33rd degree (Consistory) from the Clinton, Iowa Chapter.
His family and friends will always remember him as a GOD fearing man, a loving husband and father.

A visitation for Maxon will be held Monday, May 13, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A funeral service will occur Monday, May 13, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A committal will occur Monday, May 13, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 S Belt Line Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.
