I am a Peterson but no kin to Mike but......... I should be. We moved on to South Edelweiss Drive about the same time. Our daughter Jennifer was the same age as Mikes youngest daughter Kristina. Jennifer was over at the Peterson home when Mike over heard a conversation between the girls, about how everyone at school asked if they were related. Mike said just tell then you are cousins.
Ever since then it was Uncle Mike and Aunt Carol.

My husband Keith and Mike were stationed at NAS Dallas in different squadrons .
After our friendship grew Mike got stationed in Virginia Beach where I am from , and my parents lived. Mikes wife Carol would become my moms caregiver, when she was dying from cancer . Carol came so my daddy could continue to work , and he knew my mom was in great dependable hands. My parents then had a relationship with the Peterson’s .
Many may think that these are just coincidences . I think not , we were brought together for many reasons. For that I am truly grateful.
This has become a 41 year relationship and YES we are family. We will also be connected in our eternal home some day.
Until then we ask the lord to comfort Carol, Michelle, Shannon, and Kristina and all of their families and friends.
We will miss you Mike but we will be together again, because you are just a breath away.
Carol was the love of Mike’s life , along with his girls. They don’t make then like him any more. Mike was truly one of a kind.

Much love
Keith , Deborah, Jennifer, Kevin and Melonie. “The Peterson’s “

My favorite memories were always outdoors with the Peterson’s! We went camping in both California & Texas then there were weekends at lake Palestine. Always so much fun!!! We would sit around the campfire for hours listening to our dads (Pete and Mo ) tell stories and jokes. It was that kind of laugh that would make your side hurt, tears flowing down your cheek and couldn’t caught your breath! I will always treasure the way he made me feel loved and my soul laugh! xoxo
