WENDY, Mike & Judy were great friends of me and Vera back when they lived in Beaumont. Mike & I were very close back then.  Just learned of his passing, so sorry to hear this.

Wendy, you were so young the last time 8 saw you. heck, i was just a child.  Your dad (Calvin McCormick) and my dad used to be great friends for years.  I can still remember when you were just a baby. I remember your home in Beaumont.  I remember how much fun your dad had with folks mistaking him for Glen Campbell.  He was a great guy and a lot of fun and although I hadn't seen him since I was a teen, i still remember him fondly.  I'm so very sorry for your loss.  I lost my mother in Aug of 2014.  I know how hard loosing a parent is.  May you find comfort in your memories.

Mike, you were so much more than just my father-in-law. You were the father I always wanted but never had. You are truly one of the kindest and gentlest men I have ever known. When ever I had a question about anything all I would do was call you and you would have the answer.  You shared my love of Star Trek, Star Wars, history, mythology and so much more. I will miss our talks. You will truly be missed. I will always love you. I wish I could be half the man you were.

Mr. Birmingham always treated me as one of his own. He always had a smile, a hug, and a few kind words. He accepted me simply because his daughter did. Wendy, your dad will be missed greatly, and has left an incredible mark on the world. One memory of him that I'll never forget is Ritter as a baby shrieking at the top of his little lungs at the sight of Big Daddy walking through the door. We love ya'll, and are praying for you.

Wendy - you are in my thoughts and prayers. Your dad was a very special man. He was full of joy. You brought him so much happiness. When I would see you and your dad together, there was an incredible bond. Heaven gained a very special man!

Our first impression of a good Texan man was Mike.  He helped us fix our house when we moved here from Canada and we felt very comfortable with him.  We thought of him as a cool guy because he knew Janis Joplin. He will be missed.

My sincere condolences to the Birmingham Family in the loss of your loved one.  Although I never met Mike, I know he was a good neighbor at the lake to Ray, Sheila and children. May God grant you comfort and peace in this time of bereavement.  Julie, you're in our thoughts and prayers.

We are so blessed to have had the opportunity to know Mike.  He accepted us just like family when we first moved to Arlington.  We spent many wonderful weekends with him at Lake Palo Pinto.  He was a prince of a man and a wonderful friend.  Our sincere condolences go out to his precious family.  We are so saddened at our loss of this wonderful man - but we know heaven rejoices with his arrival.

Mike will always have a very special place in my heart.

Mike was like another uncle to me. Even though the older I got the less I saw him, he was always on my mind and knew if I needed him he would be there. That ws the kind of upstanding person he was. My condolences go out to Wendy and Julie... you are in my prayers.

We are so thankful to have had y'all as neighbors.  Mike was such a delight, always willing to lend a hand and help out.  He will be missed!  Our hearts and prayers are with you dear Julie.

Wendy, Julie & David,  My heart goes out to all of you.  Mike was always so nice and such a fun loving person to be around.   He was such an easy going man and always happy.  I'm glad I got the honor of knowing him.  He will be missed dearly.  Love to all of you.

Uncle Mike was by all accounts the nicest person I have ever met. He was generous, kind, loving, and had the biggest heart I have ever witnessed. He was family to my sister Katie and I even though he was not blood. Aunt Judy, his late wife, was the same way. Uncle Mike taught me to "measure twice and build once." He gave me my first job when I worked for him at the steel plant organizing the warehouse and learning some basic engineering concepts. He spent hours on the boat, in the garage, and on the boat dock with my father Wayne and I. I have many memories welding, cutting, measuring, bolting, and just building random things with Uncle Mike and my dad. I can also thank him for my love of random knowledge. On a family trip I rode in the car with him to Hot Springs Arkansas. On that trip we named all the counties in Texas and checked the map to see if we were right. As an educator I use things I learned from him all the time. I still have the giant alarm clock he gave me for graduation sitting in my office at work. He is also one of only 5 people in this world to know me as "Benja Ninja" because he would watch me play Ninja Turtles and various other superheroes at the lake in front of him. I loved Uncle Mike very much and he will not be forgotten. The quote I think of in regards to Uncle Mike comes from Teddy Roosevelt. "Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care." That sums up Uncle Mike. I love and miss him.

I believe Mike must have been one of THE best individuals ever walking the earth because he raised Wendy who is the most caring and beautiful person I've ever met.  I love her and cherish her as my friend. Thank you Mike for giving this gift to the world.  You did WELL!

This family needs your prayers because they have lost one Great Big Daddy. The memories of this incredible man keep flooding my mind and overwhelm my emotions.  Mike was a Big Man with a Big Heart.  He often said "your friends are my friends and my friends are your friends".  He was the original Macgyver and could fix  pretty much anything with a C-clamp. I hope they have C-clamps in heaven so he can help with any problems they might have.  Mike was a true genius and could design in his mind anything in multiple dimensions, positions, and locations, in any space. I had to grind on some steel today just so I could feel closer to him.  I learned more from him than any person on this earth.  I wish we could keep him.

I will always remember the sparkle in his eyes and the joy he took in his grandbabies. He happily jumped in whenever he was needed and he always treated me like family. Lots of love going with you, Big Daddy!

So many wonderful memories of Mike .His generosity and love of life .Much laughter shared and travels in U.K,Belgium and of course Texas.He loved Birmingham.

Wendy and David, we 're so saddened to hear about your sweet Dad. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time .  His grandsons were blessed to be able to know him and spend time with him that will become cherished memories.  He's with your Mother and sharing all of the sweet stories about your boys:)

It breaks my heart to hear of his passing, he was a wonderful man and was somone I truly looked up to my prayers and love go out to his family lots of love.

Mike Birmingham was the absolute best father anyone could ever ask for. I was one extremely blessed child and I will cherish every memory I have with him. Daddy you are my hero and I look forward to when I will get to see you and mom again.

Mike was the most generous person I ever met.  His sense of humor and positive disposition always made me thankful for the little bit of time I was in his company.  The world beyond is in for a treat!
