

Mildred Louise (Foltermann) Anderson of Arlington was born on October 31,1927 to Friedrich Wilheim Foltermann and Meta Josephine Kieke Foltermann on the family farm in Burleson County near Lyons, Texas. Mildred passed away on the closing of Christmas Day, December 25th, officially Dec. 26th 2020 at 12:07 am at the Pavilion at Creekwood – Rehab. in Mansfield. She had been living at Castle Rock Assisted Living in Arlington Texas for almost 2 and a half years.
Mildred grew up on a farm, then in her teens the family moved to Somerville, Texas. A small quiet town not far from Lyons. She graduated from Somerville High School and attend a Business school in Temple, Texas. When not in classes Mildred worked in an small dinner. This is where she met Raymond Edward Anderson. For a short amount of time after Business school Mildred worked as a bookkeeper.
They were married on May 19th, 1950 at First Lutheran Church in Somerville. After their honeymoon, they lived in boarding houses until they bought property in Arlington and began building their dream home. With the help of their fathers: Fritz Foltermann and Elving Anderson their home was ready for their family-to-be. Rilla born in 1954 and Nina in 1956.
Mildred and Ray were Charter members of Grace Lutheran Church. Together they devoted their time and talents to the beginning of a new church. Mildred was involved the Women’s group, taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and many other aspects of her Christian beliefs and love of the Lord.
Mildred worked at Howard Johnson’s Restaurant for almost 30 years. It was located a few miles east from their home on the Turnpike, now known as I 30. She loved sewing, cooking, baking, mowing the yard, caring of her garden (growing watermelons and digging in soil) and reading her Bible daily.
Mildred was proceeded in death by: her parents Fritz and Meta Foltermann; her husband Raymond E Anderson; siblings – Gladys Scheffer and husband Arthur, Hubert “Preacher” Foltermann, Ruby Mayne and husband Roy, Arnold Foltermann, and niece Karen Sirnic and husband Norman “Skip”; nephews: Gary Scheffer and Floyd Scheffer.
She is survived by daughters: Rilla Terry and Nina Jesmain and husband Jeff; three grandchildren – Brendan Terry, Joshua Jesmain and Mattie Jesmain; sister-in-laws: Peggy Foltermann (Preachers wife) and Minnie Foltermann (Arnold’s wife); nephews – Charles Scheffer and wife Susan, Keith Foltermann and wife Terri, Kerby Foltermann and wife Carrie; nieces: Betty Moyer and husband Paul, Ruth Kinsey and husband Mike, and Kim Callaway and husband Clay.
