In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Mission Arlington, a ministry close to Waunita's heart.
Waunita was born on May 25, 1937, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Scotty and Lula McKelroy. After graduating high school, she moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where she met her beloved husband of 53 years, Henry C. Moore Jr. Together, they raised one daughter, Tammy Moore, who survives her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry, her parents, her brother James McKelroy, and her sister Sherry Janelli.
Waunita dedicated over 25 years of her professional life to Lennox Industries. A devoted and active member of First Baptist Church Arlington for more than 60 years, she was deeply involved in the church and her community. She was also a proud member of ABWA, the Arlington Woman’s Club, Arlington Women of Rotary, and ENCORE of Arlington.
Waunita was known for her servant's heart. She found joy in volunteering at Mission Arlington, shopping for antiques, and traveling. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a loyal friend to all who knew her.
Her faith, kindness, and unwavering love for others will be remembered always.
