Patricia Delane Peery, was born on December 12, 1940, in Mansfield, Texas, where she grew up and lived until her marriage to John Richard Peery on July 3, 1964. Following their marriage, Delane and John made their home in Arlington, Texas, where they built their life together.
A talented artist, hairdresser, and gifted horsewoman, Delane was a hard worker who could teach herself to do just about anything she set her mind to.
While Delane had many talents, her greatest love was horses. She had a natural gift for understanding and training them, earning her the affectionate description of a “horse whisperer.” Her patience, knowledge, and special connection with horses made this one of the most meaningful parts of her life.
Above all, Delane was a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also a dear friend to many, forming friendships throughout her life that she treasured. Her strong work ethic, independent spirit, creativity, and love for the things that mattered most to her will remain part of the legacy she leaves behind.
Delane is survived by her beloved husband, John Richard Peery; her daughters, Theresa Peery Brown and Virginia Peery O'Brien; her grandchildren, Tiffany Cook, Justin King, and Eric O'Brien; and her great-grandchildren, Brayden Cook and Nyx Teresa King. She is also survived by her brothers, Burton Poe and David Poe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Silas Poe and Helen Huffines Poe, and her brother, Steve Poe.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Church in Arlington, Texas. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Parkdale Cemetery in Arlington, Texas.
