Patrick Gaylon Hicks, 60, of Grand Prairie, Texas, was born June 27, 1966, in Waco, Texas, and passed away October 5, 2026. Patrick’s life was marked by steady dedication, hard work, and a spirit that could lighten any room—often with a quick laugh, a playful grin, or a perfectly timed bit of goofiness that made people feel at ease.
Raised in Waco, Patrick graduated from Waco High School in 1984 and went on to graduate from TSTC in 1986. He carried that work ethic forward through every season of life, showing up with determination and pride in whatever he set his hands to do.
In 2003, Patrick married Fasicka Hicks, building a home rooted in love, loyalty, and deep devotion. Together they welcomed two daughters, Abinet Hicks and Lydia Hicks. Patrick was a devoted father, husband, and son—someone who showed his care in consistent ways, through presence, effort, and the kind of everyday commitment that becomes a family’s strength. He is also survived by his son, Rhyson Hicks.
Patrick found joy in the things that made life feel full: driving classic cars, listening to Michael Jackson and other old school favorites, playing sports, and traveling. He loved spending time hanging out with family and friends, and his competitive streak—always spirited, never dull—brought energy and laughter to the moments people still talk about.
A renowned chef, Patrick shared love through food, bringing people together with meals made from the heart. And while he could be shy on camera, he still enjoyed keeping up with the times—especially when it came to doing the latest TikTok dances, a fun reminder that joy doesn’t have an age limit. He also had a sweet spot for sherbet ice cream and lemon bars, simple favorites that suited his warm, down-to-earth way of living.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Fasicka Hicks; daughters, Abinet Hicks and Lydia Hicks; son, Rhyson Hicks; brothers, Odrick Hicks, Greg Hicks, and Joe Hicks; sisters, Angie Hicks, Shica Hicks, and Tamera Hicks; and nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Lee Hicks, and his mother, Mattie Mae Hawkins-Hicks.
Visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012, on October 12, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Final resting place will be at Moore Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington.
Patrick will be remembered for the devotion he gave so freely, the hard work that anchored his life, and the humor—sometimes goofy, always genuine—that made the people around him feel like family.
