In 1948, Peggy married Rondal William Gambrell. After welcoming two children, Sharon and Richard, Peggy returned to college, graduating from UT Arlington in 1967. For several years, Peggy worked as a Senior Proofer at LTV.
Peggy loved reading, crossword puzzles, dancing, quilting, traveling, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Lovingly referred to as "Granny", she was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. "Granny" was a wonderful woman who left behind an amazing legacy. God's goodness and mercy truly did follow her all the days of her life.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Rondal William Gambrell, her grandson, Ryan Wayne Gambrell, her great grandson, Wesley Taft Gambrell, and her brother, Neely Tipton.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Davis (Allan), her son, Richard Gambrell (Cynthia), her granddaughters, Lisa Henderson (Greg), Amber Davis, and Tiffany Benavides (Fernando), 10 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild due in November.
Visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012, on July 7, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A private graveside has been scheduled for her family on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
