Raymond Edward Borst

Ray Borst was born December 24, 1959, in Charleston, SC, to James R and Jeanette Borst. Ray graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1978. He married Jo Ann Kappelman Borst in July 1988. The two of them soon moved to Sioux Falls, SD, where their daughter Emily Raejean was born in 1989. Ray worked at UPS and completed his Electronic Technology Associate Degree from South Dakota Technical Institute, Sioux Falls, in 1991.

In 1993, the family moved to Lebanon, TN, where Ray was employed as an electronic technician with Custom Tapes in Nashville. Wanting to return to his Texas roots, the Borsts spent a brief time in Tyler. Ray then accepted employment as an electronic technician with The Dallas Morning News, working there for 12 years and up until his death.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jo Ann and daughter Emily Raejean; his parents Jim and Jeanette Borst, Arlington; sisters June Rochelle Pace (Ronnie), Mansfield and Cherie Stockard (John), Paradise; sister-in-law Caryl Hesslink (Bob), Madison, WI and brother-in-law Ron Kappelman (Janice), Rapid City, SD, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and friends. Ray was preceded in death by an infant brother Jay, his maternal and paternal grandparents and faithful Golden Retriever companion Buck. Memorials can be made to Frisco Relay for Life.
