Rene Bernice Templin

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 24 at First Baptist Church, Arlington, Texas. Services are under the direction of Moore Funeral Home. No public visitation is planned.

Rene was born in St. Joseph, Missouri to Calvin and Elsie Nichols Thomas on September 4, 1926. She met her future husband, Ralph Templin, while they both worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. They were married on December 27, 1947. After many moves with the telephone company, they settled in Fort Worth and Arlington where they were active members of Sagamore Hills Baptist Church and First Baptist Church, Arlington. Ralph and Rene were founding members of Grace Baptist Church which is now NorthPointe Baptist Church.

Rene is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Templin, her parents, and her brothers, Calvin and Dallas Thomas.

Rene is survived by her children, Tom and Linda Templin, Arlington, and Sandy and David Mettauer, Palestine, Texas, her grandsons, Joshua, Nate, and Jed Templin, Sam and Scott Mettauer, and her five great grandchildren.
