Robert Lee Havens

Service: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Arlington. Private burial: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. Visitation: 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Widowed Persons Services of Fort Worth or Community Hospice of Fort Worth.

He was born in Peoria, Ill., on June 29, 1931, to Lee and Dorothy Havens and was raised in Washington, Ill. He graduated from Eureka College. Bob served in the U.S. Army in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he married Margaret Heiken in 1955; their daughter, Judith, was born a year later. They lived in the Chicago area where he worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. for 36 years. Bob retired in 1992 and moved to Arlington.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Havens, in 2001 and a brother, James Havens.

Survivors: Daughter, Judith Gowin and husband, Douglas Gowin, of Arlington; brother-in-law, John Heiken; sister-in-law, Betty Wettstein, both of Metamora, Ill.; nieces and nephews; and many close friends.
