He was born in Joliet, Ill., on May 19, 1927, to Frank Jarosz and Mary Stukel Jarosz. He served his country for over 20 years and among many commendations was twice awarded the Purple Heart.
His passions included running, volunteering, putting together jigsaw puzzles and getting them framed and giving them as gifts. He loved animals. Among his many accomplishments, one of his proudest moments was being chose to carry the Olympic torch in 1996 as part of the country relay.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary DiJohnson Jarosz.
Survivors: His daughter, Anne Jarosz Ciarochi and son-in-law, Daniel Ciarochi; and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
