Robert Davis McPhail

Robert Davis McPhail, of Arlington, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the age of 84. He was known to his friends and family as Bob and his grandchildren as Grandbob.

Bob was born to E.S. and Frances McPhail on March 28, 1938 in Orlando, Florida. He was raised in Orlando and graduated from Edgewater High School in 1956. He went on to graduate from Georgia Tech in 1961. He joined the Coast Guard Reserve after graduation and spent six months in active duty and finished his military duty in the reserves.

Bob began his career with Chance Vought Aircraft in Grand Prairie, Texas in February 1962 and after 37 years, in June 1999 he retired from Lockheed Martin (one of the following owners of Chance Vought).

He married his sweetheart, Brenda Spinks, on January 27, 1968 and with great joy celebrated almost 50 years of marriage to the same great lady. Brenda and Bob were honored to have two lovely young ladies, Christiania and Juliania. In his words, God was generous to him and life was great.

Bob was preceded in death by the love of his life, Brenda. He is survived by his children - Christe and Brian Dodds and Julie McPhail – his adoring grandchildren – Hannah and Ali Lin, Demi and Davis Dodds and Naomi Dodds – and his sister Mary Frances Drake of Orlando, Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service with lunch after the service will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at noon at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, located at 5819 W Pleasant Ridge Rd, Arlington, TX 76016.

He will be interred at Moore Cemetery next to his bride.
