August 30, 1974 Robert married Bonnie Lou Conners.
Robert enlisted and reenlisted in the U.S. Air Force for eight years, worked 6 years Civil Service in Duluth Minnesota, moved to the DFW Metroplex area and worked for Holman Boiler Company in Dallas.
Robert was a 30-year member of the Worldwide Church of God. He had a passion for God's word, photography, gardening and woodworking.
Robert is survived by his children Angela Lynn Murphy and Deborah Ann Oliver, grandchildren and stepchildren. He is predeceased by his parents Leslie and Eva Washburn, Grandma Rose Sovie Mashaw, brothers and sister.
