Roger was a kind, gentle man who willing to help anyone, anytime.  Hardworking, dedicated, warm, and friendly all the time.  In my 14 years at UTA , Roger and I had many conversations about a "wide variety" of topics.  Academia and humanity are not as strong now that Roger has passed away; however, heaven now has a new mail carrier who is in charge of the copying machine!

Our deepest condolences to Ruth, their boys and their families.  We will remember Roger for being a great family man, neighbor and expert bridge player, as well as for his wit and his ability to show up at the tennis courts a few times a year and show us all how the game should be played.  He will be missed!

I will always remember Dr. Dickinson for his encouraging statement: "Why not?" It was both a validation and a challenge that I will actively try to pass along to my students here in the Cayman Islands. Rest in peace, gentle educator...your lessons live on.

Roger was a good friend and a great colleague at UTA, where we served together for 25 years.  He often offered me some excellent career advice - and generously understood when I sometimes didn't heed it.  He will be fondly remembered.

When I was a M.B.A. student at UTA, Roger was my first marketing professor. He was responsible for awakening in me my love of marketing.  I later joined the UTA marketing faculty for six years and had the pleasure of knowing Roger as a colleague.  He was a true scholar and a man of great integrity.  Even though I haven't seen him in ten years, I have thought of him often. My sincere condolences to his family.  He will be deeply missed.

Been awhile since seeing you, but always enjoyed the company and very eventful when playing bridge and on the tennis court when with Ruth. Deep Sympathy to all of the family.

I knew Roger for the entire time he was at UTA. I never met a kinder, more caring person than Roger. He was first and foremost a scholar but also had a love for teaching and his students. As department head, it was often difficult for me to please the faculty with their teaching assignments. I always new Roger would pitch in and help whereever needed. At times, I would go to Roger's office asking if he had a particular research article that I couldn't find. Typically, Roger had stacks of papers several feet high throughout his office. But, after a few seconds, he would go to a stack and pull out the article! I was always amazed! I will miss Roger very much and I will think of him often. Roger did make the world a better place by preparing so many young people for a future life in business.

Roger Dickinson: Husband, father, gentleman, scholar, mentor, and friend; I am forever indebted to Roger for his friendship, vision, scholarly advice and loyalty. Memories of Roger and Ruth joining us for expeditions in Croatia, Thailand and Arizona will always be treasured. In a world where so many people say "What's in it for me?" Roger always said, "Count me in, I'm happy to help." You will be missed, Roger; your legacy in the academy and with family and friends remains eternal.
