Roger McMullen of Fort Worth, Texas passed from this life into Glory with the Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at age 63. Roger was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on June 12, 1957 to Mae Sims. Roger grew up in Texas and lived his life in the DFW area, where he met the love of his life, Terri McMullen. They were married on June 26, 1976.
Roger accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior at the age of 8 at Tate Springs Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas under Pastor Roy Buckaloo. Later he served as Youth Director and a Sunday School teacher at Spring Valley Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas with his wife and their three children. At the time of his death, he was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church. Roger spent a lifetime serving God and trying to instill those values and beliefs in his children. Roger's son, Jacob, once asked him what the best thing God had ever done for him, he said "He saved my life and gave me your mother". Jacob also asked him if you could tell people one thing, what would that be? His answer was "To believe in Christ and ask him into their heart". Roger was a hard-working man and a good role model for others to look to.
Roger is preceded in death by his brother, Ricky McMullen and father, Lawrence McMullen. He leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years, Terri McMullen; his three children, Michelle Guillory and husband Ray, Jacob McMullen and wife Dayva, and Adam McMullen and wife Elizabeth; his mother, Mae Sims, sister, Patty Brown and brother-in-law, Buddy, sister-in-law Nancy McMullen; and 14 very loved grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the services. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 2 PM. A visitation will be held from 12 Noon until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in Roger's honor to the American Stroke Association.
