Ted Barnes 90, a hard-working man with a contagious sense of humor, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, October 13, 2012. The Barnes family, Richard Earl Barnes and Lillie Agness Owens, were blessed with a son, Ronald "Ted" Barnes on May 18, 1922 in West, Texas. On August 2, 1942, his spirit was united with Geraldine Darden in holy matrimony. They were married for 68 years. The couple bought a home in White Settlement in 1949 and raised their three children. Ted worked at General Dynamics where he retired after 34 years of service. Ted was a Navy Bosun’s Mate from 1942- 1945. He attended North Side Assembly of God and later Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God. Ted was preceded in death by his son, Carl Barnes of Fort Worth, and his wife, Geraldine Barnes of White Settlement. Ted is survived by his daughters, Erma Stites of Granbury, Texas, and Fay Stites of White Settlement, eight Grandchildren, nine great Grandchildren and six great-great Grandchildren. Ted had one brother and five sisters. He will be dearly missed.
