Ronald "RD" Lynn Davis

RD was born on October 13, 1952, in McKinney, Texas, to Peggy Nell Parr and James Glenn Davis. He was raised in Arlington, where he attended Sam Houston High School before beginning a long and dedicated career with General Motors. It was during his time there that he met the love of his life, Susan Davis. Together, they built a strong, loving blended family and shared more than 30 wonderful years side by side.

In retirement, RD cherished every moment spent golfing and traveling with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a devoted “Papa,” never missing an opportunity to support his grandchildren at their sporting events and school activities, always offering encouragement, pride, and unconditional love.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peggy Nell Parr and James Glenn Davis; his sister, Cathy Ann Whittemore; and his brother-in-law, Donald Ray Joiner.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Waynelle Davis; his sons, Ryan Cole Davis and wife Stacie, and Daniel Wayne Dutton; his daughter, Sarah Victoria Austin; and his treasured grandchildren, Alyssa Davis, Cylee Jarvis, Abigale Dutton, Alex Davis, Andrew Austin, and Russell “Little RD” Austin. He is also survived by many other loving family members and dear friends.

RD was truly loved by everyone who knew him. His kindness, warmth, and genuine friendship left a lasting impact on all. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A service will be held on Saturday, July 18, at 1:00 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas.

A celebration of his life will follow at his residence, honoring him in the same spirit of joy, love, and connection with which he lived.
