Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home with interment at 2:30 p.m. in Iredell Cemetery, Iredell. Visitation: 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Ronnie grew up in Iredell and attended Tarleton State and graduated from North Texas State University in 1958. He taught and coached in McKinney, Mesquite, Sweeney, and ended his long career at Arlington Lamar High School.
In retirement, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends, hunting and fishing especially with his grandson Helm at Lake Texoma.
He was preceded in death by parents, Bill and Leola Helm, and his daughter, Debbie Helm Bauerle.
Survivors: His wife of 57 years, Pat Helm; daughter, Valerie and husband, Jon Donahue; grandson, Helm Donahue; sister, Eleanor Chaffin and husband, Nolan; niece, Karen Chaffin; and nephew, Kent and wife, Linda Chaffin.
