Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please consider becoming an organ donor.
Sean was born in West Allis, Wis., on Jan. 9, 1966, to Skip and Mary Jo Bolger Klase. The family relocated to Arlington in July 1972 so his father could work at the General Motors Plant in data processing.
Sean loved all sports and especially loved playing Little League where his dad coached, but found his true love in seventh grade - football. Sean attended Duff Elementary, Bailey Junior High and was a proud member of the Arlington High Colt Football team, graduating in 1984. Proud is an understatement, there is still a Coach Stovall "big toe" flag somewhere in the garage. Sean played college football at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., for two seasons where he was also a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. After being side-lined by a knee injury, he finished his physical education degree at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Sean met and kept lifelong friends while attending school and working as a lifeguard at Wet n Wild in Arlington. Sean worked in a variety of fields over the years, but most loved his time as a computer literacy teacher at St. George's Catholic School in Fort Worth. Sean loved to spend time on the lake with his SkeeDoo, swim and spend time with his family and cheer on his beloved Dallas Cowboys. Sean was a Big Brother and served on the Board of Big Brothers and Sisters for several years. He also donated many hours to animal rescue operations.
Sean had hopes and dreams his body couldn't keep up with. He always saw the silver lining and he never met a stranger. We will forever hear his laugh and see his smile.
Sean had numerous beloved friends in his hours of need - the family is eternally grateful to all of you. The family would also like to thank the ICU staff at Medical Center Arlington and LifeGift Organ Donation Center. Sean was a proud organ donor. A special thanks to Tonya Smith and Wellington Oaks in Fort Worth who nursed Sean back to health over an extended period of time.
Sean was preceded in death by his parents, Skip (1985) and Mary Jo (2014).
Survivors: Sister, Cheryl Klase, brother-in-law, John Eder Jr., and beloved niece, Claire Eder, all of Dallas; aunt and uncle Patricia and Terry McMahon of Stoddard, N.H.; aunt, Mae Klase of Franklin, Wis; and numerous cousins and loving friends. He is also survived by his rescue dog, Brie, whom he loved dearly.
Arrangements under the direction of Moore Funeral Home, Arlington, TX.
