My gram gram was one of the most caring and nicest people I know. She did a lot for our family and I will always remember her getting me a doll every year on my birthday that would say my age. She never forgot but she did get me the same age twice in a roll and it made me laugh she was always one to make you laugh!I will never forget the great times I had at her house from Chinese Christmas to swimming in her pool was always a good time if my gram gram was there! We love you so much and will miss you bunches!

Gram Gram aka Shirley Kennedy was my favorite person to talk to in my extended family. She always smiled and told you what you wanted to hear. Her sense of humor was one of the best around and very sneaky. I will never forget she acted like I never came over in the middle of the night to see her grandaughter even though she knew. She always gave me respect and love without having to prove I deserved it. She made everyone feel included. I could go on for days about this wonderful lady. She was absolutely amazing and deeply missed. Love ya Gram Gram!

My gram was one of the most amazing people I know! She was always there for everyone. She was our families glue. I tried to be the glue for awhile for her when she could not do it but I think I’m just not as special and strong as my Gram. She is irreplaceable for sure. I am so thankful for everything you did for our family gram and could never repay you for that. I am thankful I got to help take care of you the last the 3 years and I will never forget it. Threw it all you might not could remember thing but you were still your feisty self and didn’t let people tell you what to do no matter what. (Maybe this is were our whole family got the don’t tell me what to do from lol) I know i am like that and so is my mom.

I am so glad you are at peace now and feeling better than ever with your loved ones. You will be so missed and I will always share my great stories and memories with you gram. I love you the mostest xoxoxoxoxo

Please continue to watch over our family from heaven because we know we sure need you. Love you and you will never ever be forgotten.

Such a sweet sweet lady. She always liked to share her memories of April's and Jessica's friendship adventures, making me laugh. She was a very caring grandmother and loved her family deeply. I will keep her memory and your family in my heart. Kathy Rascoe

Shirley was a super sweet, loving, and caring lady. What I remember the most about her is her smile. She seemed so happy all of the time. And now thinking back, I believe it was because she was around her family. I always went with April to her house whether it was just to stop by and say hello or for a gathering or party. Shirley always welcomed me over and was so nice! She will be greatly missed! With lots of love, Jessica M.

There are so many memories but what sticks out the most is Shirley was the very first one who loved my children unconditionally. When Alex was born, she just said give me my grandson. She rocked him just like she had her granddaughters. She made sure Danielle got the same porcelain dolls she had bought for other granddaughters and made sure they were African American. Shirley did not know the meaning of the word “step”; they were her grand babies and that is all that mattered. Because of her my children had a loving grandmother “Mimi”. I am so thankful she was part of my life and their lives.
