Shirley was born Feb. 26, 1936, the youngest of nine children of Edgar and Nettie Peterson, and a surprise and joy to her older siblings. She was a kind and gentle wife and mother, and more than anything, enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. She will be remembered for her skills in sewing and embroidery, making beautiful clothes and crafts for her family and friends, and her love of the Texas Rangers baseball.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years, Gerald; sisters, Adeline and Ruth; and brothers, Harlan, Donald and Warren Peterson.
Survivors: Children, Joy Schleining, Christine Loos and her husband, Edward, Kerry Schleining, and Annette Shully and her husband, Jeffrey; grandchildren, Amy Hill and her husband, Max, and Amanda Loos; great-grandchildren, Andrew Loos, Alyssa, Ava and Ayden Hill; sisters, Grace Ericson, Wanda Gustafson and her husband, William; brother, Duane and his wife, Willie Peterson; her beloved niece, Beth Peterson of North Richland Hills; numerous nieces and nephews; and a multitude of extended family and friends.
