Following high school, he attended Rice University, where he met the then Julie Stanley. They began their courtship soon after and were married in 1975 until his passing. Following graduation from Baylor College of Dentistry, he was commissioned in the U.S. Navy and served at various posts around the world for over 20 years. Following his retirement from the service, he went into private practice in Arlington. He then served the community through his practice and volunteer work with Mission Arlington, until his retirement in 2010.
Libraries were his happy place. He read voraciously, primarily Science Fiction and Fantasy. He also took pleasure in going to museums and listening to classical music. One of his joys was incorporating “Talk Like a Pirate Day” into his dental practice. He will forever be known in the family as the Tooth Fairie.
He is survived by his wife Julie Wallace; parents Bruce and Carolyn Wallace; daughters Sara Haight (Benjamin Haight) and Katherine Wallace; son Andrew Wallace (Geoff Chumley and Timothy Davis); granddaughters Lauren, Miranda and Rosalind; sisters Peggy Wallace and Susan Wallace; brother Bruce C. Wallace; aunt Elizabeth Meadows; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members who loved and will miss him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages consideration of a donation in his memory to Mission Arlington.
