Steve William Hall, 70, passed away on February 3, 2025, in Arlington, Texas. Born on November 23, 1954, in Lubbock, Texas, Steve was the son of Wanda and John W. Hall. Steve was a devoted husband to his wife, Cheryle Hall, and a loving father to his daughter, Jennifer Hall, and his son, Michael Hall. He leaves behind 2 siblings, John Hall and Leesa Oglesby. His wife and children were the center of his world, and he will be remembered for his commitment to his family.
Throughout his life, he found joy in the simple things—sitting at his favorite spot at the kitchen table, savoring cheddar cheese cut from a big block with saltine crackers. He had a deep appreciation for law enforcement and enjoyed watching police-related dramas. Steve spent many years working as an armed guard for Dunbar Armored where he picked up and delivered cash and coins to business in the DFW area. Steve was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and most days you would see him wearing a Dallas Cowboys ballcap, following in the traditions of his mother Wanda, who also loved the Dallas Cowboys.
Steve loved music. He could be found listening to a variety of music from The Beatles to Collective Soul to Shania Twain. He played guitar and passed that love on to his son Michael who is a hobby guitarist. He loved eating ice cream and indulging in sweets. Anytime he had the opportunity, He enjoyed dinner with his family at El Fenix Restaurant in Downtown Dallas where he enjoyed cheese enchiladas with chili con carne sauce and a frosty bud light beer. He was very playful and loved to make others laugh. One of his greatest gifts was his playful nature which created so many lasting and wonderful memories. Steve was happiest at home, surrounded by his family and the comfort of his routines.
After retirement, Steve spent most of his time with his wife Cheryle, his dog and companion Oscar. He was honored to care for his wife as her health deteriorated. He spent every day for the last two years sitting by her bedside, comforting and loving her. The immense love that he had for his wife was evident by all who knew him and his unwavering care and attention to her every need. He especially looked forward to weekend visits from his son, Michael, where he enjoyed hearing about his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wanda and John W. Hall. He was a cherished "second grandfather" to Jake Britton, Aubrey Stepter, and Evelyn Stepter. He enjoyed watching them witness new experiences in life and loved to hear stories about their lives.
Although his death was sudden and unexpected, his loved ones have found comfort in knowing that Steve is closer to God now than ever before. Steve’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his loved ones find comfort in the moments they shared with him.
