

Susan Louise L’Ecuyer, age 69 of Arlington, Texas passed away peacefully on August 6th, 2026 due to a sudden illness. She was surrounded by the love of her family. Susan was born January 23, 1957, Oklahoma City, OK. to Billy Joe Charles and Francis Marion Charles of Oklahoma City, OK. She graduated from Mount St. Mary’s Catholic High School in 1975, where she was both a cheerleader and the Homecoming Queen during her senior year. She later attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Stillwater, Oklahoma where she earned an associate degree.
Susan began her professional career in Texas as a bank teller at the Bank of Crowley in Crowley, TX. She later worked as a secretary and receptionist for a defense spare parts supplier named Defense Manufacturing Inc., where she met her husband and the love of her life; David. She then joined LTV Aerospace in downtown Dallas serving as a secretary in the company’s Corporate Legal Department.
Susan eventually discovered her passion for real estate. After earning her real estate license, she built a successful career as a Realtor with Coldwell Banker in Arlington, followed by Remax Associates of Arlington, and later with Premier Realty. In her very first year, she was honored with the Arlington Board of Realtors’ Rookie of the Year Award a testament to her dedication, professionalism and natural ability to connect with people. After a rewarding 25 year career in real estate, Susan retired in 2026.
While Susan was proud of her professional accomplishments, her greatest joy came from her family. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished daughter, caring sister, beloved aunt, proud Nana and treasured friend. Family was the center of her world.
Susan shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband, David, for 41 wonderful years. His love and partnership brought her immeasurable happiness. Their marriage was filled with love, laughter, and a strong faith in God. Together they raised two children, Jessica Lauryn Kirby and Preston Louis L’Ecuyer, who were the pride of her life. One of Susan’s greatest joys was being Nana to her five grandchildren. She cherished every school program, birthday celebration, family gathering, and quiet moment with each of them.
Susan is survived by her loving husband, David Howard L’Ecuyer III of Arlington, TX, her Daughter, Jessica Lauryn Kirby, Son-in-law Jason, Granddaughters Madison & Leighton of Midlothian, TX; her Son, Preston Louis L’Ecuyer, Daughter-in-law Kameryn, Grandchildren Linkyn, Londyn & Lennox of Arlington, TX; her Mother, Francis Marion Cabrera of Moore, OK. her Brother, Danny Charles and Sister-in-law Janna of Mustang, OK. along with cherished Sister-in-law’s; Debi Schiff of Washington, DC., BecKee Traplena of Crawford TX and their families, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Susan was preceded in death by her Father, Billy Joe Charles and In-laws, David H L’Ecuyer II and Nell L’Ecuyer Payne.
