Susan was born February 24, 1955, to Kellis D. (Dick) and Madge Moore in Glendale, Arizona. She was affectionately known as “Punkin” to her Dad. Susan attended many schools in the states as her father was in the Air Force and relocated often. She graduated from Leilehua School in Wahiawa, Hawaii and received a BS Degree in Math and Computer Sciences from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas. She worked as a computer specialist for the State of Texas before retiring in 2020.
Susan was very talented in crafts of any kind – she loved doing counted cross-stitching, oil painting, watercolor drawings, worked crossword puzzles, and solving most math puzzles that others could not. Susan loved to cook and had just about any kind of cooking utensil that was ever made. She cooked every new recipe that she would get from friends or from cooking shows on TV.
A very close friend wrote, “My beautiful forever friend and sister gained her heavenly wings on April 12, 2022. She was always the first one there when anyone was needed. A bright spot in all of our lives in good times and bad. We love you so much and will cherish all of the memories of our time together.”
Susan had many friends and was loved and known as a second Mom and Grandmother to the children. She was warm, funny, and cuddly but also very outspoken when she needed to be. She was a mathematician who could figure out how to work hard problems when no one else could. She often tutored high school and college students who were struggling with their classes. One father told her his two sons would never have graduated without her tutoring them. She loved all the little children and always had a little something somewhere in her bag to treat them with once she received her hug. The adults often asked her advice when they needed someone to talk to and confide in. She never hesitated to offer her advice – be it good or bad – and they loved her for being honest.
Among all her friends, she would the first one they called when they needed help of any kind. She shared life’s ups and down with them. She was an angel in disguise to all and they loved her very much. She had so much pride in all the new babies of friends as they came along, being at the hospital with the new father to help welcome them. She has left a lifetime of memories for several generations.
A friend stated Susan was exceptionally smart, had a sharp sense of humor and a quick wit that you never wanted to challenge. She leaves a great void in all of those who knew her and will live forever in our hearts.
The Lord needed you so He took you to a better place where you will suffer no more. May He hold your precious soul forever in His hands.
A huge part of our hearts now lives in heaven, rest in peace, our darling, and be our best angel.
Susan is survived by parents, Dick and Madge Moore, sister Marty Moore, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many friends that were her unrelated brother and sisters. She will be missed by all as the circle has now been broken.
