Susan was a sweet and loving woman with a wonderful laugh that brought joy to those around her. She loved the Lord and found comfort in her faith. She is now in His hands, at peace and free from the struggles of this life.
Susan had a special love for collecting chickens, purses, shopping, and gardening—simple pleasures that reflected her unique personality and the things that made her happy.
Susan is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bill Slone; her son, Tim Slone; her grandsons, Corey and James; her great-grandchildren, Eliza, Emmet, and Elliott; her sister, Janie Hutson; and her brother, Mark Hargett.
Bill will especially miss their mornings together, sharing coffee and tea and beginning each day side by side. Those quiet mornings, like so many moments they shared over 56 years, will remain among his most treasured memories of the woman he loved.
Susan will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. Her sweetness, her laughter, her faith, and the love she gave to those around her will live on in their hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to organizations dedicated to the study and cure of Alzheimer's disease, in the hope that one day other families will be spared the pain of this disease
