Thomas "Tommy" Hammer

Tommy was born in Livonia, Mich. He was initiated into Local 116, Fort Worth, on Dec. 9, 1952, and served his local in a long list of capacities. He held the offices of business manager, business manager-financial secretary, president, vice president, executive board member, as well as serving on the local's Negotiating and Apprentice committees. He was appointed an international representative on June 1, 1973, and was assigned to the Seventh District staff. He retired as Seventh District International Representative of the IBEW on June 1, 1993.

He served as president of the Texas State Association of Electrical Workers, vice president of the Texas AFL-CIO, president of the Fort Worth Building Trades Council and vice president of the Tarrant County Central Labor Council. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors: His wife, Jackie; daughters, Cindy, Debbie and Sherri; son, David; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
