

Arlington - Thomas Ned Sweatt, 81, passed away early Friday morning, August 27, 2021. He was born on September 17, 1939, in the home of his parents, William Thomas and Lena Louise Sweatt, in Estelline, Texas. Ned was the oldest child of three sons. He was married to Patricia Lynn Sweatt for 39 years and shared a blended family.
Ned lived in the little town of Estelline and graduated from Estelline High School in 1958. He served in the US Army from 1961 - 1963, and was stationed in Alaska as a company clerk. He cherished being able to serve his country, and in his final days he often went back to that time in his life.
In 1966 he moved to Fort Worth Texas where he was a manager at Montgomery Ward until 1982. From 1982 - 2001, Ned was self-employed until he had a disabling stroke.
Ned was a kind and generous man. He had a soft spirit and was tender-hearted. He liked playing games and loved joking around. He will be missed by many.
Ned was preceded in death by his parents; his son, David; and granddaughter, Alex.
Survivors: Wife, Patricia Sweatt; daughter, Melissa Ford and husband, Rick; son, Ronnie Sweatt; daughter, Suzan Smith; daughter, Penny Bazazan; and son, Guy Smith and wife Becky; as well as 6 grandchildren, Kayla Ronck and husband Hayden, Sarah Reid, Jordan Ford and wife Taylor, Jessica Rowe and husband Ben, Chris Glubke and wife Courtney, Mehrdad Bazazan, and Naveed Bazazan; and 4 great grandchildren, Maci Ronck, Riley Ronck, Presley Glubke and Banner Rowe; and 2 brothers, Ken Sweatt (and family), and Wayne Sweatt (and family).
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Sept 4, 2021at Greenwood Mount Olivet in Fort Worth. The celebration will be graveside starting at 10 am.
