

Funeral Service: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Moore Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Moore Funeral Home. Tom was born in Tulsa, Okla., July 13, 1933.
At a young age, he and his mother relocated to Texas. There he spent the rest of his days as a member of the Lutheran faith and as a proud Texan. Tom honorably served his country in the Army. He later graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and became a successful FAA engineer. After a 27 1/2-year career, he briefly retired and then went to work at Lockheed Martin where he spent 13 years before his final retirement. Tom was a private pilot and, in his spare time, thoroughly enjoyed building and flying RC planes; he was a member of an RC club called the Planesmen. He was also a member of the NRA. Tom loved education and continued learning throughout his entire life. He was a loving, gentle man and nothing meant more to him than his wife and family. Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Wood.
Survivors: Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 48 and a 1/2 years, Bobbie Wood; son, Mark Wood and wife, Jackie; granddaughters, Hannah Wood, Jessica Sowell and husband, Justin; and a host of friends he made throughout his life.
