Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Vaughnie was born to Elmer and Eller Stephens in Chandler, Okla., on Feb. 3, 1930. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Vaughnie lived in Arlington and Grand Prairie most of his life. He worked in the oil and gas field for 40 years and was a business owner in Grand Prairie for seven years.
Vaughnie was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: Sons, Gary Stephens and his wife, Shirley, and Larry Stephens and his wife, Mary; grandchildren, Brian Lee Stephens and Leah Dee White; and numerous stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.
