

Vernon W. (Bodine) Brazelton passed away on July 3, 2012 in Arlington, Texas. He was born on June 17, 1918 in Eldorado, Texas. Bodine was married to his loving wife, Myrtle, for 62 years before her death. He spent a career in sales and retired from Oilwell Supply in San Angelo, Texas.
He and Myrtle enjoyed the first part of their retirement in San Angelo. They traveled all over the United States and particularly enjoyed their trips to the Northwest United States. They also enjoyed antiquing and spent many happy hours looking for that perfect addition to their collections. Bodine was also an avid fisherman and loved both trout fishing in the mountains of Colorado and New Mexico and fishing on the lake in San Angelo.
Later he and Myrtle moved to Arlington, Texas to live in the Texas Masonic Retirement Center. He was living there at the time of his death.
He was a deacon in three Baptist Churches—First Baptist in Crane and McCamey, Texas, and Park Heights Baptist Church in San Angelo. He also spent many years teaching 9 year old boys in Sunday School.
He is survived by his two children: daughter, Judy Caldwell and husband, Doug, of Plano, Texas, and son, Dan Brazelton and wife, Robbie, of Odessa, Texas; grandsons: Bryan Brazelton and wife Sara and Blake Brazelton and wife, Kasey: three great-grandchildren: Grady Linn Brazelton, Caleb John Brazelton and Hallie James Brazelton; one sister, Frankie Helmandottar, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Texas Masonic Retirement Center Chapel. 1501 W. Division, Arlington, Texas 76012 on Saturday, July 7, at 10:00 am. Visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012 on Friday, July 6, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
