Virginia was born July 14, 1924 in Jack County to Gusto and Ollie Wells. She married the man of her dreams, Clyde Carey. They spent 70 dedicated years journeying together, through thick and thin. She loved her home and kept a beautiful yard and garden. Her skill of sewing, cooking and decorating was only part of her skill set. Her very competitive nature helped her achieve a high level of playing golf, of which she did not take up until she was 69 years old. Virginia's energy, her ornery quirks, sense of style and beautiful smile will be missed by all who knew her. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Gusto and Ollie Wells; son, Daniel Craig Carey; and bother, Jasper Wells. Survivors: husband of 70 years, Clyde Carey; daughter, Janis Carey Sharp and husband, Bill; son, Gregory Carey and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Matthew Jackson, Mark Jackson and wife, Shanna, Jacob Jackson and wife, Ashleigh, Daniel Carey, Karis Spooner and husband, Thomas, and Samuel Carey and wife, Adelia; great-grandchildren, Nicole Jackson, Colby Jackson, Riley Jackson, Cadyn Jackson, Declan Spooner, and Ollie Spooner; sisters, Helen Roten and Hedy Brooks; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Clyde, our deepest sympathy and prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time. I know there are no words that can be said to relieve the depth of pain that a loss of a loving wife can bring. May Virginia’s memories never fade in your thoughts, may her joyful spirit and beautiful smile always remain within your heart and may God always guide you with his never ending love. Please know that Virginia is now in a place of peace and comfort and may God wrap your family and you in his love and give you the strength to get through this as a family.
