Dear Aunt Patsy, Dannah , Paula and family , 
I am so deeply saddened by the loss of  dear Uncle Walter ,but still at the same time what a glorious feeling in knowing where he resides . I have my favorite memory of Uncle Walter . I’ll never forget that day  he was in  Connecticut and came  over for a visit   . I was a young girl and I remember sitting at our kitchen table and uncle Walter started  sharing Gods word with me . As a family we always attended church but I never knew the love of Jesus until Uncle Walter shared Gods grace and love for me . That day I became saved  and I’m forever grateful for this . Because of this my children know Jesus and one day their children will know Him too . Uncle Walter is a man I’ve always admired . A man who not only talked  the talk but walked the walk . A man with a tremendous knowledge of the word, with grace and love in his heart , an amazing preacher ,a great sense of humor . An awesome story teller . “A fisher of men “  Is what comes to mind when I think of him . Even during illness and recovery I heard he would pass out pamphlets of Gods Good news .
Thinking of you all and praying for peace and comfort during this difficult time. Sending big hugs and all my love . 

 I’m so blessed to call him MY Uncle . He will forever live in my heart ❤️

Thank you for loving me like your own grand daughter and for teaching me so much about Jesus, ministry, and the love of missions. There are so many wonderful memories I could write about but one of my favorites is how you always loved my brother and I. You could make us giggle from our bellies as children and we always knew that you loved us deeply. I can’t imagine what my life would be without having had your spiritual influence on my life. It would look scarily different in every single way. You have shaped my life because of your influence and not just my life but my children’s life too. I’ll always love you!!

" Andy " was a college friend at BBC in the early- mid 50's. He an Patsy have remained friends all these years.  He was always friendly, fun loving and faithful to his calling. I never ever heard any word about him to the contrary. One of my most remembered things is that while in college he also worked in the cafeteria bussing tables. Sometimes he could be in a hurry and I could hardly have that last bite off my plate and he'd have the plate whisked away before the fork reached my mouth. That happened to me in a restuarant recently and it immediately reminded me  of Andy!! 🤗
My thoughts and prayers for Patsy and their girls. God's peace and grace will keep them. We will all meet again around HIS throne.

My parents and I loved him so much when he was the Pastor of our church Shelton Beach Road Baptist. My parents are Royce and Winnie Mclendon . I know he is sitting at the feet of Jesus now hearing well done thy good and faithful servant.

There is not enough words to express my love for such a honorable man of God. I have many personal memories with him growing up and I will cherish them forever. 

There are no words sufficient enough to describe the special memories I have of Bro. "A." He was my first pastor. I was a teenager the first time, and later, my hubby and I, were charter members of a church he started.  He was such a meek, gentle, kind servant of our Lord. He preached for all those years never waivering from the Bible. "Well done thy good and faithful servant." I'm so grateful for the many members in my family alone, which were changed because of your love and concern for our souls.

Patsy, Paula and Dannah, my first pastor's wife and daughters, I'll continue to pray for you as you adjust to life without your husband and dad. It is a different and difficult journey, but praise Him, "Joy Comes in the Morning," Until I see you again (soon, I believe), Bro. "A."....

To my dear Dad, you were the best daddy a girl could ever have. Thank you for the way you lived your life in always serving others. Your example of tireless service in your ministry will always live on in my heart. Thanks for back pats to help me go to sleep, sandwich making for school lunches, awesome spaghetti and meatloaf meals, teaching me to drive (that’s why I’ve had tickets due to your example of what a lead foot meant) but most of all for ALWAYS pointing me to Jesus in every situation in life. Your favorite saying to me was always, “It’ll all come out in the wash!” And that has proved to be true!
