Walter Neel Beene

Walter Neel Beene, Chief Master Sergeant, USAF, was born in Freestone County, Texas on April 11, 1926. He graduated from Teague High School in 1944. He served in the US Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1948 and in the US Air Force from 1950 to 1968.

His parents were Lethia (Pipkin) and William Obediah Beene of the Freestone Community, Texas. He married Robbie Nell Martin, of Teague, Texas in 1946. Robbie was also a graduate of Teague High School in 1944. They had four children, 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lou Shelton Beene, and her two grandchildren.

He was a Master Mason, a Scottish Rites Mason 32nd Degree, Royal Arch Mason and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. He was a resident of the Texas Masonic Retirement Center in Arlington, Texas at the time of his death at age 95.

Services will be held at the Texas Masonic Retirement Center, Main Chapel, 1501 W. Division St., Arlington, 76012, on Wednesday, October 27, at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to No Mason Left Behind or to your favorite charity.

He will be buried later in a private service at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
