Bill was born July 15, 1943 to William Hugo Avaritt, Sr. and Ruth Belle Trucks Avaritt in Mobile, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1970. In his earlier years, he ministered at several churches within the Mobile, Alabama area and later he would use those skills, along with technical writing and speaking skills, to teach at Tarrant County College as well as several other colleges in the area. He always kept Biblical teaching in the forefront and shared the gospel with others. Bill was a member of First Baptist Church of Arlington and often taught Bible class in the Fellowship Bible Class. He loved going to Church, the beach, playing Golf, and visiting with his family and grandchildren. Bill had many titles - Doctor, husband, minister, teacher, friend, neighbor, but the title he cherished the most was Pawpaw or Granddad.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Hugo Avaritt Sr; mother, Ruth Belle Trucks Avaritt; and brother, Edward Oliver Avaritt.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sherry Avaritt; stepchildren, William C. Hodges and wife, Jennifer, and Blinda L. Windham and husband, Trace Windham; grandsons, Gage Rohr, Tristan Windham, Bret Windham, and Noah Hodges; granddaughter, Karson Hodges; great-grandson, Charlie C. Wallace; brother, Pete Avaritt and wife, Debbie, of Mobile, AL; and numerous other relatives and friends.
